The switch configuration settings are dependent on the floor plan information, such as the Location, Device, Scene, and Switch that can be associated and controlled by the switch. The steps to create or edit a new switch group are explained in the Create Switch Group.
This article provides a description of the fields for configuring the switch group settings:
To configure any of the switch group settings for an existing switch,
- Click Facilities in the left navigation panel and select a floor. Note that a switch is created on the selected floor and cannot be moved to another floor.
- Click on Groups and sub-tab Switch to display the switch table.
- Click Edit. The Edit Switch Group screen appears.

You can control all the switch group settings in the Edit Switch Group dialog box shown below.

The Edit Switch Group includes the following attributes:
- Switch Name - The name of a switch based on location or function. Examples for location-based is "Board Room" or function-based is "Security Check" for a switch used for turning on lights in all areas of a floor.
- Switch Type - This controls the behavior of fixtures. This field supports two types of switches.
-
-
-
Auto-on/Auto-off (Default) —The fixtures turn the lights to the 'maximum light level' defined in the lighting profile when it detects motion.
-
Manual-on/Auto-off — The fixtures behave as if a switch controls them. For example, a fixture will not turn on the light when occupancy is detected. Instead, press the button on the switch to turn on the light. However, for safety concerns in very low or no light situations, fixtures will always turn on the light when occupancy is detected.
- Fixture Version - The sensors with firmware versions 1.x or 2.x+ controlled by the switch. The same switch cannot control sensors with firmware versions 1.x and 2.x+.
The Location Tab
The Location tab sets the location of the switch. When you right-click on the floor plan, select Set Switch Position in the pop-up window. The icon for the switch is positioned at the cursor point.

If needed, you can select the switch icon and drag it to reposition it on the floor plan.

The Device Tab
Use the Device tab to select fixtures and plugloads controlled by the switch. Note that the selected sensors and the switch must be bound to the same gateway. Additionally, the sensors must match the firmware version specified when the switch was created in the Create Switch pop-up. For configuring a switch group, refer to the article Create Switch Group.
Add fixtures to the table by selecting them on the floor plan and clicking the
control. One or multiple fixtures can be selected and moved.

The following image shows the fixtures added to the table, but the configuration has not yet been sent to the fixtures since the status is shown yellow.

If you need to remove fixtures from the table, select fixtures in the table or on the floor plan, and click the
control.
The Scene Tab
When a switch is created, the following scenes are created:
-
All On – Sets the light level to the current value of “max light level when on” for fixtures controlled by the switch. See Understanding Profile Basic Attributes for Max Light level when on.
-
All Off – Sets the light level to 0% (off) for all fixtures controlled by the switch.

These two scenes cannot be edited or deleted and thus are not listed in the scene list for the switch shown in the display under the Scene tab. Additional scenes should be created to set the light level individually for each fixture controlled by the switch. (Note: all fixtures controlled by a switch are affected when a scene is activated.) See Creating a Scene for the steps to set the light level individually for fixtures controlled by the switch.
The Switch Tab
There are two types of switches: ERC and EnOcean. Up to four switches can be associated with a virtual switch. Use the sub-tabs Add ERC or Add EnOcean to associate ERCs and EnOcean to the virtual switch.

- Add ERC - An ERC needs to be commissioned before it can be associated with a switch. If it has been commissioned, then it should be on the floor plan. To determine if an ERC is commissioned, tap any button on the ERC. If a single green LED blinks, then the ERC has already been commissioned. The ERC icon is shown on the floor plan after it is commissioned, as shown below.

However, if you cannot find it on the floor plan, it has been associated with another switch. (Note: an uncommissioned ERC will have the red and green LEDs blinking when a button is tapped.)
- Add EnOcean - An EnOcean needs to be commissioned before it can be associated with a virtual switch. Refer to the article Add an EnOcean switch. If it has been commissioned, then it should be on the floor plan.

Associating and Disassociating switches from a Switch Group
You can add switches to the table by selecting them on the floor plan and clicking the
control. One or multiple switches can be selected and then moved. Likewise, the switches are removed by selecting them on the table or the floor plan and clicking the
control.
