Introduction

This release note details the SU-5 sensor firmware release 5.13.4, which adds features and fixes issues found with earlier firmware releases. This release supersedes previous releases for all SU-5 sensors.

This release is designed to be compatible with Enlighted’s other products. The Compatibility Matrix outlines the firmware compatibility with other products in the Enlighted portfolio.

New Features

None, relative to 5.12.11.

Enhancements

This firmware release enhanced the following features/behavior, relative to Firmware v5.12.11 .

  • Switch group control flags ONOFF_STICKY_COLOR and OVD_STICKY_COLOR are now supported by sensor and ready for Manage to include new User options to control these features.
  • Fixtures including OSRAM Dexal LED drivers showed occasional unresponsiveness during operation and this issue is now fixed. It had been observed that Osram Dexal drivers will shut down the LED output under certain conditions.  This shut down was persistent until the driver was AC power cycled.

Limitations and Known Issues

  1. While the sensor is in the non-commissioned state, the sensor can either be commissioned as Enlighted One or a connected system.  To switch sensor operation from Enlighted One to connected system or vice versa, one should always decommission the sensor.
  2. For fixtureless sensor support, the following additional capabilities exist or are planned:
    • Manage 4.x provides the ability to change the fixtureless state from fixtureless to fixtured or vice versa.
    • A wireless update tool capable of converting the sensor from fixtureless to fixtured or vice versa.

Sensor Startup Behavior

The table below summarizes the expected startup behavior for this release based on the sensor’s operating state.

Commissioned Not Commissioned
On Power CycleSkip wiring test, skip 100% full on for 2 minutes, start normal operationThe wiring test runs the first five power cycles
After the wiring test completes, the sensor sets fixture LED to 100% full on for 2 minutes.
After the 2-minute full-on completes, the sensor sets the light level to default max and is ready for commissioning.
After the first five cycles, the wiring test is bypassed, and the 2-minute full-on is bypassed.
On Reboot command from ManageSkip wiring test, skip 100% full-on for two minutes, start normal operationNA
The sensor that is not commissioned will not accept a command to reboot
On Initiate Driver Discovery Command from ManageRun driver discovery and wiring test, start normal operation. Note that 100% full-on for two minutes will not run after the wiring test completes.NA
A sensor that is not commissioned will not accept commands for driver discovery.
Delete Sensor from ManageInitialize wiring test count. Set LED indication to reflect the last run wiring test result.
Note that upon the next power cycle, the sensor will perform similarly as an un-commissioned sensor.
NA
A sensor that is not commissioned will not accept the delete sensor command.

Sensor LED Status Summary

The table below summarizes the sensor status based on the LED behavior.

Sensor LED

Status

No LED

The commissioned sensor does not detect motion.

No LED for an un-commissioned sensor or a commissioned sensor with motion indicates a power issue or faulty sensor.

Solid Green

The un-commissioned sensor has powered up successfully and passed the wiring test.

Green Flash

The commissioned sensor has powered up and has detected motion.

Solid Red

Sensor fault – replace the sensor.

Blinking Red

The un-commissioned sensor has powered up and detected a wiring test issue.

Solid Blue

Commissioned or un-commissioned sensor has received a request to identify itself.

Blinking Blue

The un-commissioned sensor was not able to detect an energy measurement device (Control Unit or Driver).

Interrupted green

Un-commissioned fixtureless sensors.

Blinking Magenta

During Emergency Test.

Supported Sensors

The following sensors are supported by this firmware release:

  • SU-5E
  • SU-5E-LR
  • SU-5S-H
  • SU-5S-LRW/LRB
  • SU-5S-HRW/HRB
  • SU-5S-LBW
  • SU-5i-USB

This includes all the 8-wire, and 2-wire variants of these sensors.

NOTE: BOSS sensors are not supported in this build

Supported Upgrade Paths

This version can be upgraded from any previously released firmware version.
