Emergency lighting solutions exist for fixtures with either Control Units or IoT Ready Profile 0 Drivers. Specification Sheets for all supported devices are found at the bottom of this page. The following emergency lighting solutions are described here.
- Emergency Lighting with Control Unit (CU-4E-FMH)
- Emergency Lighting with IoT Ready Profile 0 Drivers
- Emergency Lighting with IoT Ready Profile 1 Drivers: Not Supported
- Emergency Lighting with DALI Drivers
1. Emergency Lighting with Control Unit (CU-4E-FMH)
There is NO Emergency version of the CU-4E, so a separate UL924 device is required in all Emergency Fixtures.
Enlighted Available UL924 Devices
We have tested and qualified multiple UL924 devices with the CU-4E. The table below summarizes the devices that we can supply directly.

2. Emergency Lighting with IoT Ready Profile 0 Drivers
Profile 0 drivers are 0-10V analog dimming drivers with an auxiliary DC voltage output that powers the sensor directly. No control unit is used with Profile 0 Drivers.
In the Emergency condition, the 0-10V dimming signal must be disconnected so the fixture will come on at full intensity. This allows a different set of UL924 devices to be used.

3. Emergency Lighting with IoT Ready Profile 1 Drivers
Not supported. Use Control Unit or Profile 0 alternatives for Emergency Lighting.
4. Emergency Lighting with DALI Drivers
Emergency lighting with DALI drivers is handled differently in North America (NA) vs other regions of the world. In NA, a bypass switching device often referred to as a UL924 device, is used to disable or bypass the lighting controls. In other regions, a special DALI device type, Device Type 1 (DT1), defined in part 202 of the DALI standard (EN62386-202) is typically used. Enlighted supports both approaches as detailed in the sections below.
- For North America applications, see the line diagram showing the connections between an Enlighted SU-5, 2-wire sensor with UL924 SPST device, 2-wire driver, and an internal Power Supply Unit (PSU): UL924 Generic SPST, 2-wire with a Normal and Emergency Driver with Internal PSU (03131-06)
- For non-North American applications a single DALI Type 1 emergency driver can be connected to a sensor. This is illustrated in SU-5 2-wire with DALI Drivers and External PSU with Emergency EU 03381-01 and SU-5 2-wire with SR Driver and LED with Emergency EU-03380-01.
The status of the emergency driver can be tested by use of the DALI Emergency APIs. Since only a single emergency driver is connected to a sensor, the location of any failing emergency driver is immediately identifiable in the system.
